NACOS Marine Launches Vision Assist, Bringing Augmented Reality Situational Awareness to the Bridge

NACOS Marine today introduced NACOS Vision Assist at SMM2026, an augmented reality situational awareness system that fuses camera,radar, AIS and chart data into a single live view on the bridge.

Vision Assist overlays target, route and navigationinformation directly onto live video from the vessel's own cameras, so bridgeteams can identify and assess surrounding traffic without switching betweenseparate displays. The system runs natively on the NACOS Platinummulti-function display, part of an installed base of more than 9,000 productsacross approximately 8,000 vessels worldwide. No dedicated console oradditional bridge hardware is required.

The system is available in three configurations, scalingfrom single-camera daylight awareness to full 360° coverage with thermalimaging:

●       VisionAssist Day: entry-level daylight situational awareness for coastal vessels,workboats and pilot boats

●       VisionAssist Day & Night: visual and thermal fusion for merchant, offshore, ferryand government operators

●       VisionAssist 360°: full surrounding coverage for cruise, RoPax and vessels operatingin congested waters
